FAO is supporting countries in the control and prevention of ASF including ASF preparedness and risk assessment missions.

Quality, affordable food a challenge, report says

FAO annual report titled, the State of Food Security and Nutrition in the World, estimates 820 million people did not have enough to eat in 2018.  FAO Sub Regional Coordinator, Eriko Hibi, says the challenge highlighted by the report is how do we ensure nutritious and high quality food is available and affordable for Samoan people.

Customers not into healthy foods – market vendor

Changing mindsets on the benefits of healthy eating remains a challenge as individual food preferences continues to reign supreme over healthy meal choices.

That is the view of Faausu Kaiser, who was one of 25 food vendors at the Savalalo Flea Market in Apia, Samoa, who were invited to participate in a healthy food promotion seminar.
