SDG-indicators under FAO custodianship:
What's new?

In this issue, we aim to keep you updated on the latest resources available to help you build your knowledge on the SDG-indicators under FAO's custodianship.

Since 2018, the FAO e-Learning Academy has published 15 free courses covering 18 SDG-indicators, in six languages, together on one platform. The collection enables learning anywhere in the world, and covers topics as wide-ranging as food security, sustainable agriculture, tenure rights for women, water stress and sustainable forest management. Primarily intended for those who play a role in data collection, analysis, monitoring, and reporting of SDG-indicators under FAO custodianship, they offer content for self-paced learning as well as materials for trainers and references to existing bibliography and online resources.

2019 was a very fruitful year with more than ten thousand learners throughout the world and new courses available, in collaboration with all FAO technical divisions, and with a number of external partners (Universities, UN Agencies, NGOs and development agencies).

For the first time ever, FAO is adopting the Digital Badges Certification System, to certify the acquisition of competencies, promote talent within organizations and enhance employment opportunities.

Stay tuned for more projects in 2020!

New partnerships give more visibility to FAO resources

The FAO elearning Center represents FAO in the United Nations Statistical Department (UNSD): Global Network of Institutions for Statistical Training (GIST), where it contributes substantially to supporting the creation of a joint learning platform that will offer free resources and courses related to the SDG to member countries. The courses will be integrated in the UNLearn platform, a new UN initiative that gives more visibility to FAO SDG-related courses.
