End-of-year message from the Agroecology team at FAO

Dear friends and partners, 2020 will be a year of prosperity for Agroecology. 

Our extended Agroecology team will be working in many countries such as Senegal, Mexico, India, Nicaragua, The Gambia, Laos, The Bahamas, Angola, Kyrgyzstan and more. We will harvest the agroecological projects we have planted the seeds for during the past years and will continue contributing to the transformation of the integrated agricultural and food systems.
Undoubtedly, you are essential to achieve this transformation and therefore, we invite you to continue following the Agroecology Newsletter in 2020!

Senegal shifts towards an agroecological transition

A national workshop on agroecological transition was held in Dakar from 18 to 19 November 2019, organized by all the organizations that are part of the Dynamics for an Agroecological Transition in Senegal (DyTAES).
The objective of the activity was to report the results of the grassroots community consultation workshops on the agroecological transition process in Senegal.

Women and youths star in the meeting of Brazilian Ecovida Agroecology Network

The eleventh Extended Meeting of the Ecovida Agroecology Network, held from 15 to 17 November, strengthened the motto ’’ Without Feminism there is no Agroecology’’. Women were crucial in incorporating the overcoming of all forms of violence (gender, race, ethnicity, LGBT phobia) as a goal of the Ecovida Network's political strategy.
